Baby Booty Foot Injury: Loose Thread Inside Baby Shoe

My sis-in-law shared this on her FB page and its been making the rounds among moms. I think its a fair reminder about checking baby booties in between hours. Sometimes the littlest things can cause unimaginable pain for the young one.

Where to Buy a Baby Stroller in the Philippines?

I haven't had much time to blog, so I'm doing a throwback post. So where does one get a sturdy baby stroller in the Philippines? Okay hit any mall and you'll find one that's reasonable on your budget.

Stroller prices range from P1,500 (Cheap China Foldable stroller) to P10,000-P18,000 (Graco, Chicco, Maclaren ) to P50,000-P75,000 (That one was a pricey Swedish pram in Shangrila Mall haha :)

We bought one at The LandMark Makati. They had a new nursery showroom.

Baby Choy was a bit confused why people were fussing over him.

But he likes his new stroller :)

Yo Spidey in the House

My little boy is a bit 'masungit' lately, upset that school's going to start next month. He can't help count the days. Haha.

He's making the most out of his summer vacay, non-stop playtime with cousin Sasha and our toddler Choy.

5 Cartoons that Actually Teach Kids Important Life Lessons

As a parent, it’s hard to sort through the so-called “educational programming” aimed at children to find the few gems. Ideally, parents want programs that aim to teach their children valuable skills, or try to instill life lessons based around social skills and personal responsibility. At the same time, shows need to be reflective and appropriate for the age range they advertise to; a show aimed at four year olds should deal with behavior issues like sharing and cooperation, while one aimed at older children might have a storyline about what it takes to be a good friend.

If you can find a show that manages to accomplish both endeavors, and teach academic skills as well as social skills, you have hit the parenting jackpot. Below are five shows that attempt this feat on a regular basis.

#5: Martha Speaks
This show is based around a cartoon dog that accidentally learns to talk, and focuses on vocabulary development. It also takes on issues like nutrition, friendship, and telling the truth. It can be appreciated by a wider range of age groups, because the little ones may not understand the life lessons, but can still learn new words.

#4: Mickey Mouse Clubhouse
This show about Mickey and his cohorts follows a particular formula (using provided objects throughout the episode to solve problems) based on educational theories of early childhood development. Problem solving, friendship, and loving yourself for being you are all important and repeated key points.

#3: Veggie Tales
This show is clearly not for everyone, and does have a religious bent with biblical characters and stories. But the overall theme is about what it takes to be a good person, and why it is important to be nice to others.

#2: Clifford the Big Red Dog
He’s a giant dog whose size always gets him into trouble. But he is affable, and has human and animal friends who are always learning the errors in their ways.

#1: Jane and the Dragon
This show may be completely new to you, as it was a joint effort between Canadian and New Zealand programming. The story follows Jane, a medieval girl who wants to be a knight rather than a lady, and her dragon friend with a propensity for trouble. This show teaches that girls do not need to be girly, and that hard work and honesty always trumps evil plans.

She is trying to make the most of their TV time so it is benefical to everyone and we can learn from it. Blue Roses for Mommy

Mom's sick at the hospital, she was rushed to Mabalacat in the wee hours of the morning. My sis abroad sends her love and took pics of blue roses for her! Our mom's name is Rose :)

Mom's lab results are in - high blood pressure, high blood sugar, low potassium plus her migraines. I'll see her on the weekend after the work week. My sis Jenny skipped work to be with her and my bro took his leave today to watch over mommy tomorrow. We all work in the city. Who doesn't? Will be doing turns to be with mommy dear in the province. Sadly, work gets in the way of family, noh?

Get well soon MOMMY. We love you :)

Hello Cookie!

We sent a pretty care package for my dear baby sis working the late shift at an ICU-Cardiology unit in a galaxy far, far away. She got the loot in time for the New Year!

I also gave her my lucky knitted cloche hat which I got in Paris. The little rose on the hat should be enough to remind her constantly of our mom :)
This is the 'lil pretty bug I used to haul off to preschool before softball training at St Scho.
Now she thinks she's all that :P

Glad to see from her pics that she's in good spirits and learning a lot of good things with the cardio equipment.
