Rockin' it at the School of Hard Knocks

The School of Hard Knocks inside the Royal Selangor Pewter Center was loads of fun. The collective intensity of mallets pounding on pewter would remind you of a Taiko drum festival.

But there's a good reason to sign up, you get to hammer out this metal plate to your heart's content, you get to de-stress and get crafty in one go. All that pounding can actually feel therapeutic.

LetsgoSago slammin' it hard! Look at his bandaged hand :)

Let the class begin! Hai!

A session costs $30 Singapore Dollars ($22 US Dollars) per person, but it comes with the exclusive royal blue School of Hard Knocks apron plus you get to keep your very own pewter bowl.

The School of Hard Knocks offers you a half-hour pewtersmithing experience in the heart of the world's largest pewter company. For families visiting Singapore, this is a group activity worth looking into.

The wooden tools- hammer, mallet and saw blade.

Spell it out with these metal typefaces you can etch on the surface of the pewter plate.

Master the alloy by hammering the pewter on the circular wooden mold.
